The villa is excellent — spacious, private pool, comfortable throughout, well-located. Five stars for all of that. But the five stars I'd really like to give are for Jonathan. We used him on four separate days and each one was better than the last. He knows the roads, he knows the people, and he genuinely wants you to have a good time. On the last day he took us to a small family-run restaurant where we ate with his cousin and three other local families. One of the more memorable meals of our lives.
We weren't sure what to expect from the Dominican Republic, having previously been loyal to other Caribbean islands. This villa, this area, and the warmth of the local people converted us completely. The villa is beautiful and extremely well-maintained. Sosua itself is endearing — small, friendly, not overly developed. We spent one day exploring further afield along the north coast and it was spectacular. Already planning the return trip.
Cold weather at home made the decision easy. This villa made the execution perfect. The pool was warm from the first morning, the outdoor dining space is beautiful, and the interior is tastefully done without being overstated. February is a genuinely good month to visit the north coast: warm, quiet, and with the bonus of Carnival energy in the local area around the 23rd. We're already thinking about coming back the same week next year.
