Estancia muy agradable — piscina no disponible una tarde

Pasamos una semana estupenda en esta villa. Los dormitorios son comodos y espaciosos, la zona exterior es preciosa y bien cuidada. El unico momento que desmereció un poco fue una tarde en que la piscina estuvo cerrada por limpieza sin previo aviso. No fue grave — aprovechamos para salir a la playa — pero habria sido mejor saberlo con anticipacion. Todo lo demas fue excelente. Sosua es un lugar maravilloso y esta villa es una muy buena base para disfrutarlo.

January escape — warm and unhurried

We came in mid-January partly to escape the grey English January and partly because we'd heard the DR north coast is especially quiet then. Both true. The villa was spotless, the pool inviting, and the whole week had a slower pace that we genuinely needed. Cabarete is a short drive for a change of scene and the beaches around Sosua are reliably beautiful. We cooked at the villa four of seven evenings which the kitchen handled perfectly. A very good start to the year.

Post-Christmas days — warm, quiet, completely restorative

Arrived December 26th wanting nothing more than sun, a pool, and silence after the family Christmas chaos. Got all three. The villa in the last week of December is wonderful: everything works, it's immaculately clean, and the surrounding area has a pleasant post-holiday calm. We read, we swam, we ate simply, we slept well. Genuinely one of the most restorative short trips I can remember.

Thanksgiving week — Rocio and Alex made it something special

We came down for Thanksgiving week with eight people and Alex had organized everything so smoothly: rooms as requested, kitchen stocked, and he'd flagged a couple of local events worth catching. On the Thursday evening itself we'd half-planned to go to a restaurant, but Alex suggested we ask Rocio to cook instead and it was the right call. She produced a Thanksgiving spread with Dominican touches — roasted chicken, yuca, plantains, a bean stew — that had our whole group at the table for three hours. Better than any restaurant would have been.

October in the DR is criminally underrated

Everyone we told we were going to the Dominican Republic in October looked at us like we were making a mistake. We were not. The north coast in October is warm, quieter than summer, and absolutely beautiful. The villa matched the setting perfectly — comfortable, clean, well-run, great pool. We had the beach almost to ourselves on three separate days. If you're flexible on timing, October is a genuinely excellent call.
