The villa itself is genuinely beautiful: private pool, lovely garden, well-decorated interior. Perfect for a romantic week. The four stars rather than five come purely from the check-in instructions, which were a little ambiguous about the gate code and access route and had us slightly flustered on arrival with bags in the dark. Once inside everything was perfect. A clearer arrival guide would bump this to five easily. The villa itself absolutely deserves five.
We came here to properly slow down and the villa was perfect for it. The garden is mature and beautiful, the pool well-maintained and private, the interior comfortable and well-equipped. We did one excursion to El Limon waterfall and otherwise spent most of the week at the property. Sometimes the best holiday is one where you don't feel the need to go anywhere.
The villa is a genuinely good base — comfortable, clean, private pool, quiet location. But Jonathan is what I'd recommend to anyone staying in Sosua. We used him for three days of driving and every single day uncovered something we would never have found independently: a beach accessible only by boat that he arranged a local fisherman to take us to, a hilltop rum bar that his family has been going to for decades, and a market in a village twenty minutes inland that was completely unlike anything in the tourist zone. Brilliant.
We came here as a couple wanting privacy and peace and the villa delivered completely. Not too large that it feels impersonal, not so small that you feel cramped. The garden is lovely, the pool sized just right for two, and the indoor spaces are comfortable without being fussy. We cooked most evenings using ingredients from the local market which was part of the charm. Three of the best days of our year.
