The pool is the star here: sun from morning until late afternoon, clean, well-sized for a group. The downstairs common areas are well laid-out and comfortable. The issue we had was WiFi dropping repeatedly in two of the upper bedrooms, which was a problem for a couple of people working remotely. We flagged it through the booking platform and by the following evening signal boosters had been installed and both rooms had full connectivity. Would have been five stars otherwise.
We'd read about the option to arrange a local cook and almost didn't bother. So glad we did. Rocio arrived on our second evening with ingredients we hadn't even seen in the market and produced a seafood spread — fresh lobster, shrimp, octopus, and coconut rice — that had our whole group in complete silence for the first five minutes. She came back two more times at our request. The pool and villa are great but honestly Rocio is what made this trip unforgettable.
Finding a villa that works for ten adults with very different personalities is harder than it sounds. This one does it. Everyone had their own room and bathroom, the pool area was big enough for the whole group without feeling cramped, and the outdoor kitchen meant we could all eat together without the expense of going out every night. Sosua beach is a short drive. Cabarete for kite surfing is easy from here. Location is genuinely excellent.
