The villa itself is genuinely nice: clean, comfortable, good pool, well-located. My slight caveat ? and the reason for four rather than five ? is that on several evenings there were neighbourhood dogs barking fairly persistently after dark. It's not something the villa can control and it didn't stop us sleeping, but light sleepers might notice it. Everything about the actual property is well-run and accurately described. Would stay again with earplugs as backup.
We come to the DR every other December and this villa was a first-time booking for us. It's now firmly in the rotation. The property is well-maintained and has a quality of calm that you feel immediately on arrival. The pool gets afternoon sun well into the early evening. The garden is mature and private. Sosua in December has a lovely Christmas atmosphere without being overwhelming. We'll be back.
Six of us came for a long weekend that stretched into five days because no one wanted to leave. The villa is comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. The pool is the centrepiece and it earned its keep: mornings in the water, afternoons in the shade, evenings at the outdoor table. We ate in town on two nights and cooked the rest. The neighbourhood is quiet without being remote. An uncomplicated, thoroughly enjoyable stay.
We've done enough villa rentals to know that the arrival experience usually involves some degree of improvisation. This one was different. The villa was completely ready, spotlessly clean, with a stocked fridge, a welcome note with local tips, and every key and code working on the first attempt. Alex was available by phone for our first day and then wisely stepped back. The villa itself is comfortable and has a particularly lovely outdoor area for evening meals. Great start-to-finish experience.
We'd stayed in other parts of the Sosua area on previous visits and this time tried something new. Good decision. The villa is in a quietly beautiful location with a lovely private pool and well-maintained garden. The interior is comfortable and accurately described. The surrounding area is peaceful and the coast is not far. We had a simple, excellent week with very little planning required. Sometimes that's exactly the point.
