I don't usually write reviews but this felt worth it. The villa is genuinely on another level — the scale, the gardens, the pools. We had 19 people and there was never any sense of crowding. One bedroom's AC was rattling badly on the first night. We mentioned it and by mid-afternoon the next day a technician had been, diagnosed a loose internal bracket, and fixed it. Everything after that was five-star in every way. The initial issue is why this is four rather than five, but the response was exactly right.
The villa itself is the obvious star here — thirteen bedrooms, two pools, gardens you want to photograph every morning. But what made the trip for us was having Jonathan as our driver for three of the seven days. He took our group of 16 to places that wouldn't appear on any search: a fishing village for the best ceviche we've ever had, a quiet beach that required a 20-minute track to reach, and a rum distillery that isn't in any guidebook. His knowledge of the north coast is genuinely remarkable.
Brought 18 colleagues here for a three-day leadership offsite and it worked on every level. Enough meeting space to run sessions properly, strong WiFi throughout, a pool for decompression between sessions, and the quality of the beds meant everyone slept properly for once at a work trip. Catering was sorted through a local service and it was excellent. We ended the final evening around the pool with drinks and the conversations that never happen in a hotel conference room. Booking again for next year.
Thirteen bedrooms for a full family reunion across three generations — it worked brilliantly. The layout means grandparents have quiet corners while the kids take over the pool. We had Rocio cook for us on three of our five evenings and each meal was a complete Dominican experience: fresh fish one night, a proper sancocho, and on the last night a whole slow-roasted spread with plantains that had everyone going quiet. No restaurant in Sosua that week came close.
This villa is extraordinary in scale and quality. We had 20 people for a milestone birthday weekend and the photos from the pool terrace are already framed on someone's wall. On day three one of the pools was taken offline for a few hours of routine maintenance. It was slightly annoying on a hot afternoon, but the second pool is large enough that no one suffered. The villa's own beauty more than compensates for minor operational moments.
