Everyone raises an eyebrow at October in the Caribbean but on the north coast it's genuinely excellent: the rains clear fast, the beaches are quiet, and the greenery is extraordinary. This villa is immaculately maintained and the outdoor space in October, with everything lush and the light soft in the afternoons, is particularly beautiful. We had a wonderful week with minimal planning and maximum enjoyment. Would recommend this timing to anyone flexible enough to use it.
We're a group that travels together most summers and we're picky about villa rentals after some disappointing experiences. This one cleared every bar. The villa is well-maintained and accurate to the photos. But what elevated it was Alex: a recommendation for a specific snorkelling spot that wasn't crowded, a direct number for a reliable taxi when we needed one at short notice, and on our last morning a message asking if we'd like the pool cleared early for one last swim. Just thoughtful.
The villa is genuinely excellent and we had a mostly wonderful week with eight people. The one imperfect moment was on day three when a maintenance crew arrived at 9am to do some work on a garden section without any advance notice. They were gone within two hours and perfectly pleasant, but it disrupted our lazy morning. Worth a heads-up to guests in future. Everything else — pool, bedrooms, kitchen, outdoor area — was exactly as described and well-maintained.
We came as a group of ten for a milestone birthday and Alex had the logistics sorted before we even landed: rooms allocated as we'd specified, welcome groceries in the kitchen, and a chilled welcome message waiting on our phones. We'd arranged for Rocio to cook on the birthday evening and she didn't disappoint. A whole roasted fish, coconut shrimp, plantain every way imaginable, and a traditional cake she'd somehow produced alongside the rest of it. The birthday person was moved to tears. Alex made it possible, Rocio made it magical.
We've done the Caribbean a fair few times and this sat comfortably at the top of that list. The villa is just right: well-proportioned, private, beautifully maintained, and with a pool that gets sun all day. The location gives you easy access to everything worth seeing in the north. The listing is accurate — always a good sign. We came with six friends and left with everyone quietly planning when they could return.
