The villa is magnificent and our group of 22 had a wonderful week overall. The four stars come from our arrival: we reached the property at the agreed time and weren't able to access the bedrooms for about 50 minutes while the changeover team finished. Alex called us almost immediately, apologized clearly, and had cold drinks and snacks ready at the poolside within ten minutes. It softened the frustration considerably and everything from day two was completely seamless. The property itself earns five stars easily.
We chose late February partly to escape the English grey and partly because we'd heard the DR in low season is quieter and calmer. Both turned out to be true, and this villa elevated the whole experience. 22 people, zero complaints, and a general agreement that this is now an annual event. The pool terrace at sunset is something you don't get over quickly.
We brought the wedding party and close family here for the week leading up to our ceremony and it was exactly what we needed. Private enough for emotional conversations, beautiful enough for rehearsal photos, and large enough that people could have space when things got a little intense. Long breakfasts, afternoon swims, and dinner together every evening. By the time the wedding arrived everyone was relaxed and happy. That's the ideal pre-wedding week.
Arrived December 21st with 24 family members for the full Christmas run. Alex had arranged a decorated welcome for the kids, which was a lovely touch right off the bat, and when we needed a minibus for Christmas Eve shopping in Sosua and Puerto Plata, he connected us with Jonathan on short notice. Jonathan was brilliant — patient, knowledgeable, completely reliable. Christmas Day by the pool with the whole family is now our new tradition. We'll be back next December without question.
Fourth year running with this group of 20 friends, third time at this specific villa. Every year we half-expect to find something has slipped, and every year we're wrong. The pools are pristine, the gardens have grown even more beautiful, the furniture is well-maintained. At this point it's less a holiday and more an institution. Already planning next November.
